Alexander Ospelt named entrepreneur of the year
Alexander Ospelt has won this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. The Chairman of the Bendern-based food manufacturer impressed the jury with his new ways of creating innovative products.
Every year, consulting firm EY holds a competition in over 50 countries and among some 10,000 candidates to name the entrepreneur of the year. In Liechtenstein, the government co-sponsors the prestigious award with EY. The Entrepreneur of the Year Liechtenstein wins not only cash prizes and trips, but he or she is also inducted in the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
Alexander Ospelt was named Entrepreneur of the Year Liechtenstein in this year’s competition in Liechtenstein. “Alexander Ospelt is always finding new ways of creating innovative products for his customers,” jury member Martin Risch said in a statement. “In doing so, he sets milestones in his industry and is successfully positioning the Ospelt Group among the international competition.” As the Liechtenstein winner, Alexander Ospelt will represent the country at the international World Entrepreneur of the Year competition in Monte Carlo in spring 2020.
As Chairman of the Ospelt Group, Alexander Ospelt is the second generation to manage the Bendern-based food producer. Under his leadership, “the group has developed into a leading European company in the food industry”. According to the statement, its brand Malbuner, which is produced in Bendern, is one of the “best-known and most popular brands in Switzerland”. Active worldwide, the Ospelt Group has sites in Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Germany.
