In future, drivers’ licenses will be presented immediately upon successfully completion of practical driving tests in Liechtenstein. A newly developed app will ensure that results are immediately and consistently transferred to the Road Traffic Office.

The Liechtenstein Road Traffic Office (Amt für Strassenverkehr: ASV) is further digitizing its processes. From September 21 onwards, it is planning to introduce the Cari Drive app for practical driving tests. The app will allow road traffic experts to record the results on a tablet following completion of a practical driving test, as detailed in a press release. This will not only ensure standardization in terms of the choice of words, but will also mean that the data can be immediately fed into the ASV system.
Thanks to this new app, a driver’s licenses can be picked up from the customer counter immediately after a successful practical test. In the near future, there is also likely to be the possibility of printing the driver’s license at the test center, meaning that it can be handed over without delay to any driver who has passed their test.
According to information from the ASV itself, it worked in conjunction with the Information Technology Office (Amt für Informatik: AI) as well as a private service provider in order to develop the app.
