The countries and cantons that participate in the International Lake Constance Conference are continuing to support cross-border exchange and encounter-related projects. Applications for the period running from 2022 through to 2028 can now be submitted.

Associations, municipalities and organizations from Liechtenstein and the cantons located in the vicinity of Lake Constance can again apply for funding for exchange projects from the International Lake Constance Conference (IBK). These are financed either from the small project fund of the IBK member countries or from funds connected to the Interreg program Alpenrhein-Bodensee-Hochrhein. An international jury decides on the applications several times a year. According to a press release issued by the IBK, the next submission deadline for IBK exchange projects is September 30, and October 31 for projects in connection with the Interreg program.

For the funding of small exchange projects up to 2,500 euros it is crucial that project partners from at least two countries and cantons of the IBK region work together, for example in the form of joint workshops, intercultural encounters or excursions focused on cross-border topics. The IBK region covers the Principality of Liechtenstein and the cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden, Schaffhausen, St.Gallen, Thurgau and Zurich, in addition to the region of Vorarlberg in Austria and the districts of Konstanz, Sigmaringen, Ravensburg, Bodenseekreis, Lindau, Oberallgäu and the city of Kempten in Germany.

Small Interreg projects can be financed up to a value of 25,000 euros. The focus here is on long-term cooperations with a lasting impact in the Interreg area. In addition to the IBK region, it also includes the German districts of Lörrach, Schwarzwald-Baar, Tuttlingen, Waldshut and the Allgäu as well as the cantons of Aargau, Glarus and Graubünden in Switzerland.
