The first ever Digital Finance Forum Liechtenstein will take place in Vaduz on 12 December. The event will focus on modern financial technologies and digital transformation. Christian Keller, head of IBM Switzerland, will be one of the speakers.

Digital Finance Forum is organized by the Finance Forum Liechtenstein association, which is also behind the well-known Finance Forum Liechtenstein conference. The event will look at the potentials and risks of modern financial technology and digital business models and will feature prominent speakers, such as Christian Keller, the head of IBM Switzerland, and Mike Dargan, the head of UBS IT. Digital Finance Forum will be held for the first time in the Vaduzer Saal in Vaduz on 12 December.

Keller will cover a range of topics in his presentation, including blockchain, big data and intelligence, and he will discuss both the opportunities and challenges that these present for financial service providers, particularly those in Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

Dargan, who is in charge of technology at the world’s largest asset manager, will talk about how Switzerland’s largest financial institute is finding the right balance between digital transformation and innovation. The event will also feature breakout sessions, where companies can exchange knowledge and ideas, as well as examples of what they are doing.

Digital Finance Forum Liechtenstein is supported by the government, and the opening speech will be given by Liechtenstein Prime Minister Adrian Hasler.

In a press release announcing the event, Hasler said that it is the “role of the state to design the framework conditions in such a way that market participants can implement their innovative ideas and business models”. He added that Liechtenstein is creating legal certainty with measures such as the new Blockchain Act, while at the same time providing impetus for new innovations.
