EcoVadis has awarded Hilti its gold environmental rating for the third consecutive year. The tools manufacturer also received the Leader in Carbon Management rating. The environmental rating agency praised the company's greenhouse gas management system and its strong ambitions for decarbonization.

Hilti has received the gold environmental rating from EcoVadis for the third time. The agency awards its gold rating to the top five per cent of the more than 100,000 companies evaluated across all industries worldwide. In addition, the construction technology company was awarded the Leader in Carbon Management rating. The Paris-based, globally active environmental rating agency recognized Hilti as a “company with a best-in-class greenhouse gas management system and strong ambitions for decarbonization”, according to a statement.

The basis for this "outstanding rating" is Hilti's commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative. Companies that join the initiative commit to significantly reducing their carbon footprint by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, EcoVadis certified Hilti Group’s further improvements in the core areas of environment and business ethics compared to the previous year's rating. Among others, the high level of data transparency on the life cycle of Hilti products was emphasized.

"We aim to be our customers’ best partner for sustainability,” commented Jahangir Doongaji, CEO of the Hilti Group. “This year’s rating encourages us to further drive our ambitions. Besides our goal to become more sustainable ourselves, our differentiated product and service offering helps our customers to reach their own ambitions in this area.”
