The Green Mountain’s vegan pepper medallion has won a PETA Vegan Food Award 2023. The startup from Graubünden, which is part of Hilcona AG in Liechtenstein, previously won a PETA Vegan Food Award for its vegan chicken fillet last year.

The plant-based pepper medallion from The Green Mountain has won the PETA Vegan Food Award 2023 in the “best vegan meat” category, as the startup which is part of Liechtenstein’s Hilcona AG reported in a press release. “With its plant-based pepper medallion, The Green Mountain shows that delicious creations made from plants alone are possible,” said Harald Ullmann, Vice President of PETA Germany. “We hope that many more companies and brands will follow this pioneering example and also adopt vegan within their offering.” 

The Green Mountain describes its vegan pepper medallion as a “gourmet sensation” that is “raw and delicately peppered” and can be cooked either medium or well done. Last year, The Green Mountain won a PETA Vegan Food Award in the “best vegan chicken fillet” category. “Following last year’s win with our chicken breast, we have now received another award from PETA Germany for our uniquely delicious pepper medallions,” explains Managing Director of The Green Mountain, Werner Ott. “This once again shows us that we are on the right track with the food we are producing.”
