Hilcona collaborates with Naturland
Hilcona is developing its organic competences in Germany. The food manufacturer has entered into a close collaboration with Naturland, an international association for organic agriculture. In future, Hilcona will be able to offer more products that have been produced under strict Naturland criteria.
Hilcona plans to grow further in the organic sector. With this in mind, the Liechtenstein-based food manufacturer is expanding its organic competences “in a targeted way with another strong organic partnership” according to a press release: Hilcona will be closely collaborating with Naturland, a global association for ecological farming based in the district of Gräfelfing in Munich. This means that Hilcona will be able to offer more products that have been created under the organic association Naturland’s strict criteria in Germany in future.
The batch number can be used to accurately trace the factory and field where a product originated. Additionally, maintenance of social guidelines and ecological management criteria will be strictly monitored with annual assessments. This applies to more than 100,000 farmers in 60 countries.
The company has made a successful start with the first four products with the Naturland guarantee in the spelt and egg spätzle and cappelletti ranges for REWE Germany. CEO Dr. Martin Henck states that organic products have long been an important pillar of the Hilcona sustainability strategy in general, adding: “We believe that this pioneering step of a partnership with Naturland will contribute to organic products being perceived as less niche and more a natural product range.”
