Hilcona is expanding its range of vegan products. The food producer from Schaan is therefore seeking to react to strong demand within the vegan market. A vegan burger developed by the Hilcona start-up The Green Mountain was named as the winner of a taste test on Swiss TV.

Hilcona has expanded its range of vegan products to more than 100 different items, the Schaan-based food producer writes in a press release. “We have determined that more and more people are consciously eating less or even no meat”, comments Martin Henck, CEO of Hilcona, in the press release. Henck’s aim is to offer a “diverse and varied product range adapted to the needs of customers”. The product range offered by Hilcona covers produce such as tofu and falafel all the way through to vegetable schnitzels and plant-based alternatives to meat and fish products.
In the future, too, Hilcona will continue to identify opportunities to expand its range to include additional plant-based products. To this end, the company is increasing production capacities at its vegan competence center based in Landquart in the canton of Graubünden, while Hilcona will also be strengthening its development resources in Schaan, the press release explains. It also states that sales of vegan products are on the rise, with this area now representing an important business unit for Hilcona.
A plant-based burger developed by The Green Mountain, a start-up founded by Hilcona itself, recently came out on top during a taste test on the Swiss TV program “Kassensturz”. The Green Mountain Burger won out against international competition, Hilcona writes. At the end of September, Hilcona also launched a plant-based meatloaf on the market, which has likewise been developed by The Green Mountain.
