The Hilti Group increased its sales in the 2019 business year despite slower growth in the global construction sector. It recorded its largest growth in the North American market.

According to a Hilti Group press release, the Liechtenstein-based tool manufacturer achieved CHF 5.9 billion in sales in the 2019 business year. This corresponds to a growth of 4.3% over the previous year.

“2019 was another successful year for us with exclusively organic growth,” said Hilti CEO Christoph Loss. Given the volatility in the economic environment, the slowdown in the construction sector and a strong Swiss franc, Loos said that “we’re satisfied with our growth level and are pleased that we gained additional market share”.

All market regions contributed to Hilti’s growth. In Europe, its largest market, sales grew by 3.2% to reach CHF 2.9 billion. Sales in its second largest market, North America, reached CHF 1.45 billion, which corresponds to a strong growth of 8.6%. In the Asia/Pacific region, Hilti achieved sales of CHF 765 million, which is 3.2% more than in 2018. In the Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa region, Hilti experienced sales growth of 1.4% to reach CHF 658 million, while sales in Latin America grew by 2.3% to reach CHF 132 million.
