Schaan - Hilti is bringing to market a new version of its Jaibot mobile drilling robot. Its innovative features will further boost productivity and improve safety in the construction industry. The integrated sensor system will enhance worker productivity through further automation.

Hilti is launching a new generation of its Jaibot semi-automated construction robot, as the company reported in a press release. It promises to further boost productivity and improve jobsite safety through new automation technology. With this, the tool manufacturer from Liechtenstein is taking a further step toward the digitisation of construction sites.

Introduced in late 2020, Jaibot has proven to be an effective semi-autonomous mobile tool for installations in areas from heating, ventilation and air conditioning to electrics and ceilings. Based on digitally planned data, it can automatically drill anchor holes in pre-defined installation zones.

The next generation model has an even broader range of application. The new Jaibot can be used on complex ceiling types to autonomously drill holes in corrugated sheet metal deck structures, for example. A series of new features will further boost productivity and improve jobsite safety. The integration of a new sensor system improves hole drilling depth accuracy and distance measuring. To provide workers with even greater protection against dust, the Jaibot’s vacuum system can be upgraded to deliver 30 percent higher dust removal performance.
The Hilti cloud application offers further advantages in construction site automation and for digital planning work processes. As Hilti explains, customers can benefit from new 2D structural floor or installation plan upload options. An option to “export data and print a 2D plan for potential field rework” is now also available.
