The Stiftung Natur & Wirtschaft (Nature and Economy Foundation) has certified the newly designed areas at Hilti’s headquarters in Schaan as being nature-oriented. According to the Swiss economy’s nature protection organization, valuable habitats for plants and animals have been created there.

Hilti Corporation has received certification as a nature-oriented campus from the Stiftung Natur & Wirtschaft according to a press release from the nature protection organization for the Swiss economy. The company has received certification for the newly designed areas at its headquarters in Schaan. The Stiftung Natur & Wirtschaft states in the press release that the area is “a beautiful example of how nature can be integrated into and supported in areas used by humans”.

Hilti’s outdoor areas spanning more than 40,000 square meters include various shrubs, hedgerows, and trees complemented by wildflower meadows. The foundation writes that this creates “a valuable habitat for various plants and animals”. The inspection report highlighted a multistorey parking block made greener by a climbing plant reaching up to eight meters high and the natural woodlands on the grounds as being exemplary. Moreover, the outdoor areas also provide human users with a place for relaxation or for working surrounded by nature.

The Stiftung Natur & Wirtschaft was established by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment and trade associations in 1995. Located in Lucerne, it certifies companies based on the nature-oriented design of their company grounds. However, it also supports companies with the appropriate design of areas as well as their maintenance and use. According to the press release, the foundation has already certified more than 500 companies from all industries for natural spaces amounting to around 40 square kilometers.
