INFICON’s sales in the second quarter were dampened by weaker demand in the semiconductor and display markets. The measurement technology company nonetheless confirms its outlook for the year as a whole.

At US$ 96.6 million, INFICON’s sales in the second quarter were 7.3 percent less than in the same period of last year. Net profit for the period declined by 31 percent to US$ 11.8 million. According to a company press release, this is above all due to weaker demand in the semiconductor and display markets, predominantly in Asia. For its Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Automotive market, INFICON reports a new record-high sales figure of US$ 23.3 million for the quarter under review.

INFICON expects an ongoing recovery in the target markets for semiconductors and displays in the second half of the year. As a result, the company has confirmed its outlook for the year as a whole, despite the weaker second quarter. The Management is still aiming for sales of around US$ 400 million and an operating income margin of about 19 percent.

The headquarters of INFICON Holding AG are in Bad Ragaz. One of its three manufacturing facilities is in Balzers, in neighboring Liechtenstein.
