INFICON remains on the growth path
INFICON increased sales in the first half of 2022 by 11.7 percent to 278 million US dollars. The global measurement technology firm, which operates a location in Balzers, recorded a profit margin on a par with the previous year. INFICON expects to register further growth across the full year 2022.
According to a press release issued by INFICON, the global measurement technology firm from the St.GallenBodenseeArea generated total sales of 278.1 million US dollars in the first half of 2022. In comparison with the previous year, this equates to growth of 14.8 percent. In the press release, INFICON cites the strong semiconductor and general vacuum business in Asia as growth drivers.
However, owing to material and supply bottlenecks, production remained below the targeted potential, INFICON writes. As a result, the gross margin fell by 2.9 percentage points to 46.2 percent year on year. However, the operating profit margin and net profit margin remained stable at the previous year’s level of 18.9 percent and 14.8 percent respectively.
INFICON anticipates further growth for the full year 2022: “The record-high order backlog, the positive effects from the newly added capacities and investments into more flexible production processes, as well as public sector orders in the security market, should lead to continuously rising sales in the second half of this year”, the company concludes in the press release. In specific terms, INFICON expects annual sales to total between 560 million and 600 million US dollars in addition to an operating profit margin of around 19 percent.
