INFICON has increased its year-on-year sales by 18 percent to 329 million US dollars in the first half of 2023. The international measurement technology company with a site in Balzers is raising its sales target for the whole year to 610 to 640 million US dollars.

INFICON has recorded sales totaling 171.0 million US dollars for the second quarter of 2023 according to a press release from the international measurement technology company from Bad Ragaz in the canton of St.Gallen with a site in Balzers. This corresponds to year-on-year growth of 22.3 percent. Sales for the entire first half of the year were 18.4 percent above the previous year’s level, at 329.2 million US dollars. This is why INFICON is increasing its sales target for the entire year from 570-610 million US dollars originally to 610-640 million US dollars. 

INFICON’s operating profit in the second quarter of 2023 was 32.7 percent higher than the prior year, at 33.3 million US dollars. The corresponding margin rose by 1.5 percentage points to 19.5 percent. Net income increased to 24.8 million US dollars versus the previous year’s figure of 19.9 million. INFICON is targeting an operating profit margin of around 19 percent for the entire year. 

The major business area Semi & Vacuum Coating saw sales increase by 10.2 percent year on year to 82.0 million US dollars in the second quarter of 2023. At 47.9 percent, the business area accounts for almost half of all INFICON’s sales. Regarding regions, the company generated almost half of its sales in Asia, with 81.7 million US dollars or nearly 48 percent. Europe showed growth of about 23 percent to 43.0 million US dollars. In America, sales increased by 31.3 percent to 45.6 million US dollars.
