INFICON registered sales growth of +18 percent year on year in the third quarter. Operating profit was also above average at +33 percent. The measuring technology firm with a site in Balzers is now targeting annual sales of at least 650 million US dollars.

In the third quarter of 2023, INFICON generated sales totaling 170.0 million US dollars overall, as the global measuring technology firm from Bad Ragaz in the canton of St.Gallen, which also operates a location in Balzers, Liechtenstein, writes in a press release. In comparison with the same period of the previous year, this equates to growth of +18.2 percent. During what tends to be the weakest quarter of the year due to seasonal factors, sales also remained stable against the second quarter of 2023. As a result, INFICON is raising its sales target for the full year from 610-640 million US dollars to 650-670 million US dollars.

At 33.7 million US dollars, INFICON’s operating profit for the third quarter of the year was up +33.2 percent year on year. The corresponding margin rose by +2.3 percentage points to 19.9 percent. Net income increased from 17.8 million US dollars in the prior-year period to stand at 26.3 million US dollars for the third quarter of 2023. For the year as a whole, INFICON is striving to achieve an operating profit margin of around 19 percent.

In the company’s largest business area, Semi & Vacuum Coating, sales were down by -5.9 percent year on year to 71 million US dollars in the third quarter of 2023. In contrast, the General Vacuum business area recorded growth of +44.4 percent to 53.2 million US dollars. In regional terms, the company generated almost half (76.9 million US dollars or 45.2 percent) of its sales in Asia, while sales of 46.7 million US dollars were attributable to the European market. America was responsible for 45.2 million US dollars in overall sales. INFICON experienced year-on-year sales growth across all of its global market regions.
