Jan vom Brocke is among elite economists
In a ranking from WirtschaftsWoche business news magazine, Jan vom Brocke has been included in the elite group of economists in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The ranking is based on the publication output of 3,500 researchers.
Jan vom Brocke has been placed 19th in a ranking compiled by WirtschaftsWoche business news magazine. He is therefore in the top percentage of 3,500 economists considered in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, as the University of Liechtenstein has shared in a press release. Among professors in Switzerland, the Head of the Information Systems Department at the University of Liechtenstein was number four. The ranking was compiled by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics on behalf of WirtschaftsWoche.
In their evaluation, the analysts examined the publication output of economists at universities, Fraunhofer Institutes and Max Planck Institutes over the past five years. Giving special consideration to high-quality publication formats, Jan vom Brocke was placed 12th. In the field of IT Management, the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management at the University of Liechtenstein was in fact number one. In a parallel ranking of life’s work that included more than 4,000 researchers, Jan vom Brocke was placed 39th.
According to the press release, the 100 top researchers in the ranking are individually showcased in the latest issue of WirtschaftsWoche. “With Jan vom Brocke, the University of Liechtenstein is represented by a renowned researcher” who “puts the University of Liechtenstein and Liechtenstein itself on the map internationally as a place of research and innovation”. Only recently, Jan vom Brocke was included in a Stanford University list that represents the top 2 per cent of the world’s most-cited researchers.
