Liechtenstein sees employment rise
Employment figures in Liechtenstein improved over the course of 2018. In addition, the number of companies registered in the country increased and there were more jobs on offer.
As at the end of 2018, 39,635 people were in employment in Liechtenstein, which is 2.5 percent – or 974 – more than in the previous year. Over half of employees (22,038 individuals) are commuting from other countries. These figures have been taken from the recently published Employment Statistics for 2018.
According to the statistics, 61.9 percent of the 39,635 were engaged in the service sector, 37.4 percent in the industrial sector and 0.6 percent in agriculture. The greatest growth was registered in the service sector, with employment up by 618 people.
As at the end of the year, there were 41,784 full and part-time position available in Liechtenstein. The country therefore had 2.9 percent more jobs on offer than just a year before. The number of companies also increased. As at the end of 2018, 4,878 companies were registered in Liechtenstein, which corresponds to growth of 3.6 percent.
