LBA cooperating with Operal Gaming
The Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBA) has entered into a strategic cooperation with the Zug-based online games developer Operal AG. The aim is to raise awareness among users of sustainability and environmental responsibility via impact gaming.
The Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Operal Gaming from Zug, further details of which can be found in a press release. The partnership aims to drive sustainability, social responsibility and innovation across society. In this context, Operal’s experience in what is known as impact gaming will play a key role. Through a playful approach, for example in the smartphone game Climate Candy from Operal, the aim is to raise awareness among young people about environmental responsibility.
The game developers work on the assumptions that a targeted learning effect can be generated in the young gamers by way of a direct reward system and immediate feedback, with the associated release of happiness hormones. The simultaneous knowledge transfer with an emphasis on climate issues should help new social and sustainable behaviors to be learned.
“We believe that games can be a powerful tool for social change, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the world through our game”, explains Luigi Caradonna, Board Member of Operal, in the press release.
Simon Tribelhorn, CEO of the LBA, underlines the importance of social responsibility in his comments in the press release: “Our stakeholders and the clients of our members expect more than just high-quality services. They want financial institutions to contribute to solving the environmental and social challenges of our time”.
