The Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development (LISD) wants to work towards stabilizing the climate. To this end, it is pursuing a project in Liechtenstein that will boost the circular economy. A new book also hopes to support cities as they transition to renewables.

The Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development (LISD) wants to slow global warming. The circular economy is a key sustainable step in this direction. In the context of the Circular Economy Liechtenstein (CEL) project, the LISD wants to help Liechtenstein position itself as a world leader when it comes to the circular economy. The institute has been conducting research for this project over the past three years. Its focus lies on fundamental resource flows, principles, efficiency and measures. The LISD is planning for the results to flow into an “implementable program” over the course of this year.

This year, the institute is also showcasing the book “Urban Energy Transition – Renewable Strategies for Cities and Regions”. It should serve as a handbook for urban planning solutions and regional development strategies. The aim is that it will support cities as they convert to renewable energies. On its 700 pages, the book offers 33 original contributions from more than 60 authors. The institute has also published a video on this book.
