Markus Heinz named new CEO of Ivoclar
Markus Heinz has been appointed as the new CEO of the Ivoclar Group. The current COO of the dental company is set to replace Diego Gabathuler, who has performed the role of CEO over the past four years. In the previous financial year, the group generated record sales of 872 million Swiss francs.
In its centenary year of 2023, the Ivoclar Group has announced a change in leadership right at the top of the company, with CEO Diego Gabathuler having decided to “take some time out from corporate life to explore career options outside the dental industry with particular interest in the world of start-ups”, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by the international dental company. Markus Heinz, who originally joined Ivoclar in 1985 and was most recently Group COO, has been named as the successor to Gabathuler.
“My remit is to continue successfully implementing the existing strategy and to further develop the organization”, comments the new CEO in the press release, before adding: “This includes fine-tuning and optimization by increasing the focus on our growth markets and on our core products while investing in innovative solutions for the future”.
Gabathuler worked for Ivoclar for eight years and had managed the group as CEO for the past four years. In the previous financial year under the management of Gabathuler, the company generated the highest sales ever recorded in its 100-year history, at 872 million Swiss francs. In comparison with the prior year, this corresponds to growth of +4.9 percent, Ivoclar writes in the press release. In the summer of this year, the company is planning to open a new administration, visitor and training center at its headquarters in Schaan, which will offer space for 300 employees and will additionally house “a unique dental world of experience”.
