Austria backs researchers from Liechtenstein
The government of Liechtenstein and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) in Vienna are continuing their collaboration. This means grants from Austria will be awarded to Liechtenstein’s scientists in future as well.
The government of Liechtenstein has been working with the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) in Vienna since 1990. Through this collaboration, research projects in Liechtenstein can be awarded grants from Austria. It also promotes knowledge exchanges between researchers from Austria and Liechtenstein.
In Vienna on Thursday, Education Minister Dominique Hasler and SNSF President Klement Tockner resolved to continue the collaboration. “By renegotiating the agreement, we are honoring the commitment that has existed for around 30 years and raising its profile,” Dominique Hasler commented in a government press release. “We have an equivalent agreement with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)and this means Liechtenstein’s scientists are being given the same access to grants from these funds as native researchers.”
