Post office to exchange cryptocurrencies
The Liechtensteinische Post AG is now making it possible for customers to exchange cryptocurrencies at the post office counter. For the initial launch of this service, exchanges will be limited to Bitcoin at the branch in Vaduz. Other post office branches and cryptocurrencies will follow later.
Essentially, the exchange of cryptocurrencies will not differ from the traditional currency conversion services the post office has offered for a long time, the Liechtensteinische Post AG reported in a press release. “When exploring new business opportunities” the company decided to expand its service spectrum to include cryptocurrencies and the Post AG therefore joined forces with Värdex Suisse AG. Founded in 2017, this spin-off from Bitcoin Suisse AG is part of the Crypto Valley community in Zug and specializes in blockchain payment services.
In the first phase, the service will be limited to the exchange of Bitcoin at the post office branch in Vaduz. Customers will receive a physical crypto wallet, which can later be used to activate their credit on the network. The Liechtensteinische Post AG will expand this exchange service to other branches at a later point. It will also become possible to convert additional cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple.
