Sun Contracting expands into Poland
Sun Contracting Group is entering the Polish market for photovoltaics. Already active in German-speaking regions and Slovenia, it has now acquired a Polish company and initial project rights. Further projects are being planned.
Sun Contracting Group, which is established in German-speaking photovoltaic markets, expanded its activities into Slovenia in 2020. According to a press release from the company based in Balzers, it has now committed itself to its next photovoltaic market: Poland. Specifically, Sun Contracting integrated the Polish company Sun Energy - Jaw sp. z.o.o. and initial project rights amounting to 900 kilowatts peak into the corporate group in May.
Sun Contracting explains in the press release that the Polish photovoltaic market is of interest to the company above all due to high feed-in tariffs and support. Alexander Schauer, COO of Sun Contracting Group, comments: “High remuneration for photovoltaic energy supply as there is currently in Poland is of course a huge reason for us to enter markets.” Schauer explains that the company’s focus in Poland is on projects where energy is fed into the grid, which enables “rapid refinancing and amortization of installations, thus the highest efficiency possible”.
More projects will soon follow those already acquired in Poland. Specifically, the group is planning projects amounting to a total of 54 megawatts peak. These are to be conducted via two additional project corporations at several locations. Furthermore, Sun Contracting has already concluded agreements for additional projects amounting to a total of 20 megawatts peak.
