Swiss Re strikes deal to sell Elips Life to Swiss Life
The reinsurance group Swiss Re is selling its Liechtenstein subsidiary Elips Life to Swiss Life. At the same time, Swiss Life and Swiss Re are entering into a long-term partnership focused on employee pension solutions in Europe.
Swiss Re has agreed to sell its life insurance subsidiary Elips Life to Swiss Life International, further details of which can be found in a press release. Elips Life specializes in products covering the financial consequences of death and disability. In addition to its headquarters in Vaduz, Elips Life also operates several other locations across Europe.
The sale of Elips Life was additionally agreed within the framework of a new partnership between Swiss Re and Swiss Life. This will take the form of a long-term cooperation focused on European pension solutions. Within this partnership, Swiss Life will act as the primary insurer, while Swiss Re will concentrate on its reinsurance competencies.
