In terms of the attention garnered by its publications, the University of Liechtenstein ranks among the elite. In the 2021 rankings from U-Multirank, it placed in the top 25 for the category “top cited publications”.

he University of Liechtenstein has again performed well in the most recent rankings of the university comparison platform U-Multirank. In the recently published rankings, the university received top ratings for its research in the categories of research publications, citation rate and most-cited publications, according to a press release issued by the university. A total of 1,900 universities from 96 countries were evaluated to produce the rankings.

In the category of “top cited publications”, the university ranked among the “Top 25 Performers”. It also secured the same top position in the “international joint publications” category. According to the University of Liechtenstein, this high proportion of joint international publications illustrates its intensive international research network

The university also received a score of “very good” for the international alignment of its Master’s programs, while it also performed well in the area of knowledge transfer. This underlines the university’s practical application credentials in addition to its importance across the region.

“We are delighted to see that the University of Liechtenstein plays an important and influential role in scientific discussions and we feel that our work has been vindicated”, comments Stefan Seidel, Vice-Rector for Academic Development, in the press release, before adding: “By generating and imparting relevant knowledge, highly qualified specialists can be trained, strengthening the international reputation of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the region as a whole in the process”.
