The University of Liechtenstein has taken top spot among universities in the education rankings compiled by the Swiss recommendation platform eduwo. It has therefore successfully defended its leading position from last year.

According to the rankings compiled by eduwo, the University of Liechtenstein secured top spot ahead of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in second place and ETH Zurich in third place. A University of Liechtenstein press release revealed that, as part of the evaluation process, the respective educational institutions were “assessed particularly positively on account of the relaxed, informal atmosphere” by the students interviewed. The university further clarified that it was particularly delighted “that the students appreciate the unique atmosphere here and that the university could again finish ahead of institutes such as ETH Zurich and the University of St.Gallen”.

For the evaluation, a total of 3,000 students were interviewed by eduwo between November 1, 2016 and January 31, 2019 on the basis of the following criteria: Lecturer/teacher, facilities, organization, educational framework/setting and content. One to five stars were awarded for each criterion. In addition to the rankings for universities, league tables were also produced for applied science institutes, teacher training colleges and further professional training institutes. In this context, the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil (HSR), the Unterstrass Institute at Zurich University of Teacher Education and TEKO Schweiz all performed well.
