The Supervisory Board of VP Bank has appointed Paul Arni as new CEO of the VP Bank Group. He will take up his post at the start of October. Until then, the bank will be led by Urs Monstein, who assumed temporary management responsibility for the Group at the start of the year following the departure of Alfred Moeckli from the position of CEO.

Arni was most recently Head of Asset Management and Board Member at Deutsche Bank, as outlined by VP Bank in a press release. Previous to this, he was employed in executive positions at Julius Bär, Credit Suisse and UBS.

Fredy Vogt, President of the Supervisory Board at VP Bank, commented in the press release: “Paul Arni’s distinct, long-standing front-line experience, supplemented by his comprehensive expertise in various areas of banking, tipped the scales in his favor when making our decision”. Vogt also claimed that Arni will fit in well with the culture at VP Bank, while his professional background will ensure a “balanced profile in the composition of Group Executive Management”.

“I am looking forward to building upon these solid foundations together with my colleagues from Group Executive Management and committed employees, with the aim of being able to support the bank on its way to becoming a leading international intermediary and private bank”, Arni commented. According to the information available, the Swiss national is intending to move to Liechtenstein.
