Global association for information systems honors Jan vom Brocke
The Head of the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein, Jan vom Brocke, has been appointed as an AIS Fellow by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Vom Brocke was honored on account of his practical knowledge transfer, among other factors.
A press release issued by the University of Liechtenstein has announced that one of its scientists has been appointed as an AIS Fellow. The press release explains that Jan vom Brocke has distinguished himself with important achievements at international level in relation to the discipline of information systems and made a major contribution to the development of his country and region. Ulrike Baumöl, Rector of the University of Liechtenstein, explains in the press release that, in awarding this title to Jan vom Brocke, the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management and Head of the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein, the University of Liechtenstein’s position and international visibility in relation to the core issue of digitalization and innovation has been quite considerably strengthened.
Jan vom Brocke not only built up the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein, but also played a key role in the digital transformation of Liechtenstein, the press release states. The scientist, who has now been honored by AIS, is also an advisor to Stiftung Zukunft.li in addition to being a member of the Executive Committee of the location initiative Digital-Liechtenstein.li. According to the press release, Jan vom Brocke is the first scientist from Liechtenstein, Switzerland or Austria to receive this title that has been awarded since 1991.
The man himself commented in the press release that he was particularly happy for his work in the country focusing on practical knowledge transfer to receive recognition and not just his publication activities. The representative for the sponsor Hilti, Klaus vom Risch, described the new AIS Fellow as an ambassador for Hilti, the country of Liechtenstein and its innovative power.
