The Association for Information Systems (AIS) has honored the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS for its exceptional services in the field of information systems. This is now the sixth time in a row that this award has gone to the University of Liechtenstein.

The Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein has this year once again been named as Outstanding Chapter of the AIS by the Association for Information Systems (AIS), a globally recognized academic organization, as detailed in a press release issued by the University of Liechtenstein. With this award, the AIS recognizes the exceptional services of its members in the field of information systems. At this year’s award ceremony, the press release explains that the Liechtenstein Chapter impressed on account of its “innovative educational programs, publications in the world’s best trade journals in addition to numerous specific projects advancing digitalization within the country”.
“We established the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS in 2009 as the first German-speaking Chapter of the association, above all to draw attention to our strong location”, comments Jan vom Brocke, Head of the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein and President of the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS, in the press release. The Institute of Information Systems was named as Outstanding Chapter of the AIS for the sixth successive time with this year’s award. Jan vom Brocke himself was appointed as a Fellow of the AIS by the association in January.
The activities of the Institute of Information Systems include supporting institutions and companies in their efforts to realize projects aimed at advancing digitalization, the press release further explains. Here, there is a focus on uncovering opportunities to advantageously exploit technological benefits. “Insights into the relevance of technology and its use in overcoming societal and business challenges is essential, especially in a country like Liechtenstein”, comments Ulrike Baumöl, Rector of the University of Liechtenstein, in the press release.
