Minister for Economic Affairs visits Oerlikon Balzers
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Affairs Daniel Risch has joined Katja Grey, Head of the Office for Economic Affairs, on a tour of Oerlikon Balzers. The coating specialist’s production technology proved impressive.
Marc Desrayaud, Director of Oerlikon Balzers, welcomed Daniel Risch and Katja Grey, writes Oerlikon Balzers in a statement. While the Liechtenstein coating specialist and long-established Oerlikon Group brand represents “innovation and global technology leadership”, according to Desrayaud, its roots remain in Balzers.
Following their welcome, the guests were given a tour of the company’s showrooms by Coating Center Head Thomas Schweizer, who used customer tools and components to showcase Oerlikon Balzers’ markets.
The Economics Minister and Head of the Office for Economic Affairs were then shown the coating centers for tools and components, where they appeared particularly impressed by the coating system, according to the statement. The tour concluded with a visit to the unit assembly department and Oerlikon Balzers' training center.
“It is hard to tell from the outside what Oerlikon Balzers actually does: by bringing coating technology to life, people can be proud of what is being achieved in the country,” commented Risch in the statement. For Grey, the visit confirmed that “Oerlikon Balzers is a flagship company”.
