Financial Market Authority
The Financial Market Authority (FMA) is an independent supervisory authority for all financial market participants in the Liechtenstein financial centre.
The Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA) ensures the stability of the Liechtenstein financial market in accordance with its statutory mandate. The FMA also tasks to protect customers, avoid abuses and implement and comply with recognised international standards.
As an integrated and independent supervisory authority, the FMA supervises the financial market participants in the Liechtenstein financial centre. It implements international standards and cooperates on behalf of the government in the preparation of financial market laws. At a European and global level, the FMA is represented in all relevant supervisory organisations.
The FMA promotes the innovation and realisation of new business models in the fintech sector. To this end, a separate department has been set up together with the competence team in the Regulatory Laboratory, which acts as the point of contact for market participants in this field.
