The Young Talents Architecture Award forms part of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award and is regarded as one of the most important prizes for students of architecture, the University of Liechtenstein writes in a press release. For this year’s competition, a total of 382 projects were submitted by 155 universities.
The two submissions from University of Liechtenstein graduates from the Master’s in Architecture degree course fared well against the competition. The Master’s theses by Nina Beck and Natalia Podejko made the preselection list for the award, the press release states. The project submitted by Natalia Podejko even placed among the best 12 works.
Despite the fact that this was ultimately not quite enough to secure one of the four prizes on offer, the rankings achieved by the two up-and-coming architects at the University of Liechtenstein represent a major accolade, the University of Liechtenstein writes. The focus of the competition is on supporting talented architecture students as well as those undertaking degrees in urban planning and landscape design.
