The Green Mountain launches vegan schnitzel
The Green Mountain is expanding its range of vegan meat substitutes. The Graubünden startup, which is part of Hilcona AG in Liechtenstein, is launching a plant-based schnitzel on the market.
The Green Mountain has developed a vegan alternative to schnitzel. According to a press release from the company, this is entirely plant-based and does not apply genetic engineering. The list of ingredients is short. Rather than meat, The Green Mountain uses soy and wheat protein as well as a little rapeseed oil and Vitamin B12.
The company says the schnitzel is not only for vegans but also for “anyone who is a gourmet”. An advantage of vegan cuisine is that not consuming animal products means not ingesting the “many antibiotics and hormones” which are “used in the rearing of animals”.
The Green Mountain, which is part of Hilcona AG from Schaan, has already developed several meat alternatives. In spring, it launched a vegan sausage on the market. The startup operates in the HilconaTasteFactory in Landquart, Graubünden.
