INFICON announces Oliver Wyrsch as new CEO
Oliver Wyrsch will be succeeding Lukas Winkler as CEO of INFICON. Winkler has been running the company for 20 years. The changeover at the helm of the specialist for industrial vacuum technologies will take place on 1 January 2023.
The Board of Directors of INFICON Holding AG has announced that Oliver Wyrsch will become its new CEO. He will take up his new role on 1 January 2023. Wyrsch will succeed Lukas Winkler, who is passing on his responsibility as CEO of the company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea with a production site in Balzers. According to a press release, Winkler’s wishes to step down from his current position after almost 20 years on account of his age.
According to Dr Beat E. Lüthi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, INFICON’s “outstanding position as global industry technology leader with strong financials” today is down to the Lukas Winkler’s “exceptional work as CEO of our company”. Oliver Wyrsch (45) is “an excellent internal successor”. He has been President and General Manager of INFICON’s US Business since 2018.
Wyrsch holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He gained professional experience as a management consultant at Accenture and Booz & Co. and, most recently, as Head of the Strategic Business Unit Machine Vision Inspection at Mettler Toledo in Germany and the USA.
