Liechtenstein and Switzerland have renewed their agreement to jointly promote innovation. Companies based in Liechtenstein will remain eligible to participate in Innosuisse projects. A new feature of the agreement relates to individual start-up support.

In future, companies from Liechtenstein and other partners will still be able to participate in innovation plans linked to Innosuisse projects. On Tuesday, Doris Frick, the Liechtenstein Ambassador to Switzerland, and Swiss State Secretary Martina Hirayama signed the relevant agreement for this, a press release issued by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation details. As a result, Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency, will in future continue to support innovation projects with research and implementation partners based in Liechtenstein. This also applies to projects without any Swiss involvement.
The collaboration between the two countries in connection with Innosuisse was launched back in 2017. Since then, around 40 companies from Liechtenstein have applied to become implementation partners. Since 2018, the University of Liechtenstein has been involved in approximately ten project proposals, with the Principality of Liechtenstein stepping in to offer financial assistance in each case.
Innosuisse will now also have the possibility of supporting Liechtenstein start-ups with a science and technology focus on an individual basis.
