With the first RoboLeague in Liechtenstein, Ivoclar Vivadent is aiming to inspire a passion in technology and science among young people. On March 7, 2020, school classes in Schaan will compete with Lego robots to win a trophy.

Ivoclar Vivadent is launching the first RoboLeague in Liechtenstein. With this venture, the dental company’s aim is to get young people interested in the digital future. According to a press release, classes of schoolchildren and their teachers will be offered the “ideal platform to hold local competitions”.
A total of six teams comprising high school juniors and seniors from across Liechtenstein and Switzerland have so far registered for the competition. In the fall, they started to design, construct and program a robot using a special Lego Technic set. Starting at 9am on March 7, 2020, at the company’s headquarters in Schaan, matches will be held between two school classes competing against each other. The first robot to push the other outside of the marked arena will be declared the winner.
This event is part of a program organized by Ivoclar Vivadent to promote and support young talents. In this way, for example, teachers are also offered multiple opportunities for further training. The press release states that, with this, in-house lab experts at Ivoclar Vivadent are aiming to “provide new ideas for day-to-day teaching in classrooms”.
