Two University of Liechtenstein students have been awarded the Finance Award Liechtenstein 2019. Both the scientific and practical relevance of their theses were praised.

The Finance Awards Liechtenstein 2019 were awarded during a celebratory event. The winners are two theses prepared by University of Liechtenstein students. According to a press release, Antonia Pipal received the award for her bachelor thesis “Cryptoasset Portfolios: Analysis of Diversification Strategies”. She revealed that various diversification approaches for portfolios composing crypto-currencies and tokens deliver varying results. Bruno Jäger was honoured for his master thesis entitled “Multi-Factor Timing”. He examined the predictability of various yields that can be generated on the stock market by way of the usual trading strategies. “Both theses provided valuable suggestions and practical tips”, summarized Prof. Dr. Marco Menichetti, Chair in Business Administration, Banking and Financial Management.


Overall, 13 students on the bachelor degree course in Business Administration and master degree course in Finance submitted their theses. A total of six were then nominated for the award. The theses were presented to the audience during a ceremony held in the University’s auditorium by the respective expert. Prof. Dr. Michael Hanke, Chair in Finance at the University of Liechtenstein was full of praise for the nominated students: “All of the theses nominated for the prize featured an empirical orientation based on theoretical foundation, making them a bridge in the best sense between theory and practice”.
